Mission Statement

The opera guild is a support group within the opera company that directs its focus on fundraising, guild membership, and ticket sales. Opera guild members are able to attend rehearsals and any cast party after a final performance. Guild members join the Martinez Opera with a yearly membership of $45.00. There are three committees within the Guild which the President oversees and directs. The guild president may wish to appoint an assistant to help organize and direct. There will be a chair for each committee and a co-chair as the assistant. The guild should meet once a month. The guild president will report to the Executive Director after each meeting. The three focus areas of the guild are:

Fundraising:
All functions related to raising money for the opera company which include benefit concerts, mailings, phone solicitation, trade shows, program advertisement, and community events. Grant writing and corporate sponsorship will not be included.

Guild Membership:
All functions relating to guild membership either by word of mouth, mailings, trade shows, or community events. This committee is responsible for collecting yearly dues as well as keep members informed of events and volunteer opportunities. All web material and promotional information will be designed by the Executive Director for distribution.

Ticket sales:
All functions relating to ticket sales either by word of mouth, mailings, trade shows, or community events.
